Terms used



Sex Addiction: Symptoms include,  secrecy, isolation, moodiness and avoidance of social responsibilities. It also includes increased irritability, tiredness, depression and anxiety. Other symptoms include having risker sex and may include drug abuse. A naturally high sex drive does NOT indicate having a sex addiction.

Chems: drugs.

Chemsex: means using drugs before and during sex, and it’s most common among gay and bi men. There are typically three specific ‘chems’ (drugs) involved:

G:  GHB,  make you euphoric and turned on. It’s a colourless odourless liquid, that is easy to overdose on or die. Most common deaths of gay men are caused by this because once a drug analysis is done, it’s already out of your system.

Tina: makes you aroused, alert, but also paranoid and confused. Methamphetamine It’s also known as crystal meth.

M:  Makes you alert and confident, but makes you grind your teeth. Mephedrone is also known as Meow Meow or Plant food.

These three are usually taken together, they drop your inhibitions, make you very, very aroused and confident and can easily make you last a whole weekend.

Slamming: The gay man’s term for injecting T and/or M into their arms, legs, or anywhere that might not show.

OTHER DRUGS

E: Ecstacy a drug to make you happy, loved up and energised

C: Cocaine. makes you excited, wide awake and confident.
